How to Fix Diablo IV
Login Issues

If you can't log into Diablo IV or keep getting kicked back to the login screen, follow these steps. First check whether Blizzard Entertainment's servers are down — server outages are the most common cause of login failures.

Step-by-Step Fix

1
Check Battle.net authentication status
Visit us.support.blizzard.com. Diablo IV is always-online and uses Battle.net auth — if auth is down, you cannot log in or play at all.
2
Restart Battle.net
Exit Battle.net from the system tray. Relaunch and attempt to log in. This refreshes the session token.
3
Clear Battle.net cache
Close Battle.net. Delete the "Cache" folder inside both %programdata%\Battle.net\ and %appdata%\Battle.net\. Relaunch and try again.
4
Disable Battle.net authenticator temporarily
If authenticator prompts are looping, visit account.battle.net → Security → remove the authenticator. Re-add it after successfully logging in.
5
Check your Battle.net account for bans or holds
Log into account.battle.net in your browser. Suspensions and account holds appear there and will prevent Diablo IV access.
6
Reinstall Battle.net Launcher
Uninstall Battle.net via Windows Settings → Apps. Download a fresh copy from battle.net. Diablo IV game files remain intact.
Is it server-side?
Check real-time player reports — if reports are spiking, it's on Blizzard Entertainment's end, not yours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I log into Diablo 4?

Diablo IV login requires Battle.net authentication. Login failures are caused by Blizzard auth being down (check us.support.blizzard.com), a stale session, or an account hold. Fully exit and relaunch Battle.net from the system tray.

Diablo 4 says "Game is temporarily unavailable" — what does that mean?

This message means Blizzard's game servers are undergoing maintenance or are overloaded. This is especially common during season launches. Check @BlizzardCS on Twitter for an estimated restoration time.

Can I play Diablo 4 offline?

No. Diablo IV requires a constant internet connection for all game modes, including solo play. If Blizzard's servers are down, you cannot play. There is no offline mode.
