How to Fix Overwatch 2
Login Issues

If you can't log into Overwatch 2 or keep getting kicked back to the login screen, follow these steps. First check whether Blizzard Entertainment's servers are down — server outages are the most common cause of login failures.

Step-by-Step Fix

1
Check Battle.net server status
Visit us.support.blizzard.com. Overwatch 2 uses Battle.net authentication — if "Americas" or "Battle.net Login" shows an issue, you'll need to wait.
2
Restart Battle.net
Right-click the Battle.net icon in the system tray → Exit. Relaunch from your desktop. This refreshes the auth session and fixes most login loops.
3
Clear Battle.net cache
Close Battle.net, then delete the "Cache" folder inside %programdata%\Battle.net\ on PC. Also delete cache in %appdata%\Battle.net\. Relaunch and log in.
4
Disable authenticator temporarily
If the Blizzard Authenticator is blocking login, go to account.battle.net → Security → remove the authenticator. Contact Blizzard support if you no longer have access to your authenticator device.
5
Check your Battle.net account for bans
Log into account.battle.net in your browser. If your account has a suspension or ban, a notice will appear there. Login will fail until the suspension period ends.
6
Reinstall Battle.net
Uninstall the Battle.net launcher from Windows Settings → Apps and download a fresh copy from battle.net. Overwatch 2 game files are re-verified on first launch.
Is it server-side?
Check real-time player reports — if reports are spiking, it's on Blizzard Entertainment's end, not yours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I log into Overwatch 2?

OW2 login issues are almost always Battle.net authentication being down or a stale auth session. Check us.support.blizzard.com, then fully exit and relaunch Battle.net from the system tray.

Overwatch 2 says "Account suspended" — what do I do?

Suspensions in OW2 are issued for leaving competitive matches repeatedly, toxic behavior, or cheating. Check account.battle.net for a suspension reason and end date. Cheating bans are permanent and cannot be appealed.

My Battle.net account was hacked and now I can't access Overwatch 2 — what do I do?

Contact Blizzard support immediately at us.support.blizzard.com. They have an account recovery process. Enable the SMS Protect feature on a new number after recovery to prevent future unauthorized access.
