How to Fix Rocket League
Login Issues

If you can't log into Rocket League or keep getting kicked back to the login screen, follow these steps. First check whether Psyonix / Epic Games's servers are down — server outages are the most common cause of login failures.

These steps are provided for informational purposes only and may not reflect the latest game updates. Port numbers, menu paths, and settings can vary by platform and version. Step-by-Step Fix

1
Check Epic Games server status
Visit status.epicgames.com — Rocket League uses Epic's authentication. If "Accounts" or "Login" shows an issue, login failures are server-side.
2
Restart the Epic Games Launcher
Close the Epic Launcher from the system tray, wait 30 seconds, and relaunch. Log out of your Epic account and back in if you're stuck in a loop.
3
Re-link your platform account to Epic
Visit epicgames.com → Account → Connected Accounts. If your PSN or Xbox account link shows an error, unlink and re-link it. This is a common cause of Rocket League login failures on console.
4
Clear Epic Launcher cache
Close the launcher. Navigate to %localappdata%\EpicGamesLauncher\Saved\ and delete the "webcache" folder. Relaunch and try logging in.
5
Check for Epic account security issues
Go to epicgames.com and try logging in via browser. If you can't log in there, your Epic account may be compromised or locked. Use the account recovery flow.
6
Reinstall Epic Games Launcher
Uninstall via Windows Settings → Apps. Download and reinstall from epicgames.com. Your Rocket League data and account are cloud-saved.
Is it server-side?
Check real-time player reports — if reports are spiking, it's on Psyonix / Epic Games's end, not yours.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why can't I log into Rocket League?

Rocket League uses Epic Games authentication. Login failures are usually caused by Epic auth servers being down or a broken platform account link. Check status.epicgames.com and verify your platform account is linked at epicgames.com → Account → Connected Accounts.

Rocket League says my account is banned — what do I do?

Rocket League bans are issued for unsportsmanlike behavior (leaving matches repeatedly), cheating, or using unauthorized software. Check your ban email from Epic/Psyonix. Short bans expire; cheating bans are permanent.

My Rocket League progress and items disappeared — why?

Missing items usually indicate a temporary account sync issue, not actual data loss. Fully log out of the Epic Launcher and back in to force a profile re-sync. If items are still missing after 24 hours, contact Psyonix support.
