Is Dota 2 Down
Right Now?
Crowd-sourced outage reports from real Dota 2 players on PC. Updated every 60 seconds.
Dota 2 is Valve's free-to-play MOBA featuring over 120 heroes and one of esports' longest-running major prize pools at The International. A key technical distinction: Dota 2 uses a separate Dota 2 Game Coordinator service that manages matchmaking, item state, and player profiles independently from Steam's core servers — the GC can go down for updates while Steam itself stays fully operational. Major patch days, which occur every few weeks, typically cause 1–2 hours of matchmaking instability immediately after the update drops.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Dota 2 down right now?
GamerOutage.com tracks real-time player reports for Dota 2. Check the live chart — spikes usually indicate Steam or Dota 2 Game Coordinator issues. Also check steamstat.us for official Valve server status.
Why does Dota 2 say "No Connection"?
"No Connection" in Dota 2 means your client cannot reach the Dota 2 Game Coordinator. This is usually caused by the GC being down for maintenance or updates, a Steam outage, or a local network issue blocking the connection. Check steamstat.us.
Why can't I find a Dota 2 match?
Match-finding failures are usually caused by the Game Coordinator being overloaded, your behavior score being too low for normal matchmaking, or your account having an active match ban. Check the GC status at steamstat.us and your behavior score in the Dota 2 client.
How long is Dota 2 maintenance?
Valve does not announce specific maintenance windows for Dota 2. Major patch days (which happen every few weeks) can cause extended server instability as millions of players log in simultaneously. Follow @DOTA2 on Twitter/X for patch announcements.
Why is Dota 2 showing me as low priority?
Low priority queue is a behavior score penalty for abandoning matches, receiving excessive reports, or repeatedly buying back and feeding. You must complete a set number of low priority matches to exit the queue. This is not a server issue.
