How to Fix Valorant Connection Issues
Try these steps while waiting for servers to recover.
01
Check Riot Games Status
Visit status.riotgames.com and select Valorant + your region to see the official status.
02
Restart the Riot Client
Fully close Riot Client from the system tray (right-click → Quit), then relaunch it.
03
Flush DNS and renew IP
Open Command Prompt as admin: run "ipconfig /flushdns" then "ipconfig /release" followed by "ipconfig /renew".
04
Check Windows Firewall
Ensure Valorant and the Riot Client are allowed through Windows Firewall. Go to Firewall & Network Protection → Allow an app.
05
Try a different DNS server
Switch to Google DNS (8.8.8.8) or Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) in your network adapter settings to bypass routing issues.
06
Disable background apps
VPNs, overlay software (Discord, GeForce Experience), and background downloads can interfere with Valorant's anti-cheat (Vanguard).
Upgrade your connection
A gaming router cuts lag and drops significantly.
